🧠 Insight
'The iceberg that sank the Titanic was estimated to be 50–100 feet (15–31m) tall above water and about 400 feet (122m) long, but it was much larger originally, perhaps over a mile long, with most of its mass (around 90%) hidden below the surface, weighing millions of tons, making it massive enough to cause the extensive hull damage from a relatively small contact point.' Given that size of the iceberg I wouldn't be surprised if it actually was even bigger than that. Since the Titanic was 269m long and 28m wide. With all that surface area there would have needed to be an iceberg so much bigger than the ship to cause it that much damage.
