🤔 Reflection Question
What is the condition of Lewis Capaldi?
Hit reply — I’d love to hear your take.
Lewis Capaldi was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome in 2022, a neurological condition characterized by involuntary sounds and movements known as tics. For Capaldi, these tics typically manifest as a repetitive shoulder twitch and facial grimacing, which are often triggered by stress, anxiety, or the high pressure of performing. Following a significant flare-up during his 2023 Glastonbury performance, Capaldi took a two-year hiatus to focus on his physical and mental health, during which he underwent therapy and adjusted his lifestyle and medications. By mid-2025, he made a triumphant return to the stage at Glastonbury and has since resumed touring, noting a marked improvement in his anxiety levels while continuing to manage his condition through a combination of therapy, exercise, and specific medications like aripiprazole.
